Yesterday I went to my very last cosplay event in Holland, namely the Efteling Cosplay Meeting 2007.
It was a meeting taking place in the dutch amusementpark the Efteling in which 55 people participated in costumes, just to get to know each other and have a grand time.
I was dressed up as princess Garnet (aka Dagger) from the Final Fantasy 9 game. Made that cotume in less than two weeks time, between all the arranging for my moving to Sweden. Stress period!
Photos were made by Melissa van den Hoogen who is cosplaying Ouka from the . hack// series; she is sitting behind me on the toadstool. She also gave me permission to use these photos and put them up here.
As you can see, there were silly moments!
Thanks to everyone who made it all such a nice and perfect day!
PS:
Expect more photos to pop up of this meeting in the future. BEWARE!
I really should finish the .hack// stuff, I have every game but the first and haven't started any of them, and series-wise I've seen two random episodes from four different animes based on the games. (Only two of which even seemed to be taking place in the same timeline.) >_O Anywho, nice choice. FF9 characters don't get enough love, especially Garnet and, um... That frog-chef-looking woman I forget the name of now who was able to use blue magic and eat her opponents.
I think Garnet is the most beautiful of all the Final Fantasy women... I never do her any justice, but yeah... I always wanted to cosplay as her and as my last cosplay event, I decided to be her.
Well you aren't really baby-faced like the FF9 characters for the most part were, but I think you do a considerably good job. And eh, I'm one of the typical rat-woman Freya fans when it comes to "beauty" in the FF series. Though out of all the FF females period, somehow Agrias Oaks of the original Tactics is the most appealing of them. She just isn't elegant-beautiful. ... Anyhoo... Doth thou maketh thyn own costume via sewing, or have someone else do that bit of work?
Ugh, I lost so much weight that I lost my 'baby face' a half year ago *deep sigh* . I was already aware of the fact I am too skinny for Garnet, that is why I said I'll never do her justice.
But then most of the FF 9 cast were all Chibi like compared to the other (following) FF games.
I always make my costumes myself; this one was made spread over two weeks of time in between the packing and arragining things for me moving to Sweden tomorrow. It was alot of stress and I was really afraid I wouldn't have been able to finish the costume. Friday evening, it was done and nciely on time.
Even after the meeting with all the glomping and running and acting weird, the costume is still intact.
Nice to hear, it's quite well done and doesn't have the typical thin look of cosplay clothing. It would have been a shame for it to have been ruined. (Then, it's a shame when any clothing is ruined. Especially the kind of stuff you so often see cosplayers wear since you guys generally make them yourselves and put so much work into them.)
